The Disco Biscuits have added three new dates to their latest run, Why We Dance Tour 2024 Continued… The freshly dropped appearances will occur in the Midwest region, beginning on August 28 at The Intersection in Grand Rapids, Mich., followed by a pair of already announced concerts at Thalia Hall in Chicago on August 29 and 30.
After taking part in Weekend at the Cave, Aug. 31 through Sept. 1 in Murraysboro, Ill., the band, comprised of Jon “The Barber” Gutwillig, Marc Brownstein, Allen Aucoin and Aron Magner, will proceed with the final tour additions, including Sept. 3 at the Madrid Theatre in Kansas City, Mo., and Sept. 5 at Washington’s in Fort Collins, Colo.
The group’s latest tour additions come after the release of their highly anticipated ninth studio album, their first full-length studio offering in 10 years. The initial concept for Disco Biscuits’ latest endeavor was contrived by guitarist and lead vocalist Barber, who worked alongside collaborator and friend Joey Friedman in August 2021. By the start of the following year, they began writing songs with the help of Magner, who described the sonic semblance as “music aliens would love.”
In our June 2024 cover story featuring the jamtronica pioneers, Aucoin said, “It’s created such an amazing burst of new energy for us—a positivity,” speaking to the new material. “Everybody seems really happy— it just feels really good to have something that we’re really proud of and that fans also really seem to enjoy.”
Tickets go on sale Friday at noon ET, with an artist pre-sale tomorrow at noon ET (password TOBECONTINUED).
