Earlier this month, the Eagles made headlines with the official announcement of their residency at Las Vegas’ Sphere, confirming the legendary rock quintet as the fourth band to grace the technologically unparalleled new stage. Today, still three months from the outset of the run, the band has added four further dates, bringing the residency to a total of 16 shows from September 20 to December 14. This overwhelming popular demand arrives as a testament both to still mounting anticipation for the Vegas venue and the enduring legacy of the LA rock icons.

The band currently comprises lone original member Don Henley, second lineup addition Joe Walsh, 1977 tour drop-in-turned-feature Timothy B. Schmit, 2017 add Vince Gill and Deacon Frey, son of the founder and late co-lead Glenn Frey. For its extended stay in Sin City, the group will offer a pair of shows every weekend, taking the stage each Friday and Saturday from the third week of September through mid-December. Per an official press release, the Eagles’ Sphere experience will deliver the ultimate fan experience, staging a nostalgic trip down memory lane that explores the band’s singular, deeply American and widely influential sound, fusing rock, country, folk, R&B, rock, and pop.

The Eagles sphere residency follows the band’s official announcement of its final live circuit; after running since September 2023, The Long Goodbye Tour concluded on June 15 with a final performance alongside the Doobie Brothers in the Netherlands. Fortunately for the fans, the Sphere residency means that this is not the end for the industry veterans, who may transition to a residency-based performance style more broadly like many before them. As of now, the Sphere stint offers Eagles followers one last chance to celebrate the band’s tremendous history, which boasts more than 150 million albums sold worldwide, six No. 1 albums, five chart-topping singles, six Grammy Awards and a spot in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
