In a sudden release to his social channels, Jon Fishman has announced a special benefit concert for a good friend, occurring tomorrow, June 2 in Northport, Maine. Booked for the scenic seaside overlook of the historic Oak Hall Estate, the Garden Party Picnic will welcome support and visitors from near and far as the community rallies to bands together to support Ashley Holmes in her continued battle with cancer. All proceeds from the benefit will go to lift Holmes’ spirit by offsetting medical and living expenses.
At the picnic, supporters will experience not only the beauty of a tailor-made summer Sunday on the Oak Hall Grounds, but also live performances from local musicians Jenny Lou Drew and the Morgan Brothers. The legendary Phish drummer will also perform, lending his talents to uplift his friend and community. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own picnics and blankets, though scones, cake and refreshments will be sold on-site.
Tickets for the Garden Party Picnic are available now at https://lu.ma/Strangebird. Those moved by Holmes’ story and inspired to contribute from afar can support the official GoFundMe page for the benefit. Readers can also show love by offering a good or service to the digital auction, which will go live during the festivities tomorrow and accept generous bidding through July 14. For more information, visit the event ticketing page.
