Pitchfork has unveiled the full artist lineup for its 2024 Pitchfork Music Festival, set to return to Chicago’s Union Park on July 19-21. As always, this year’s bill boasts a carefully-curated selection of alternative superstars from a broad, if not comprehensive, array of genres. For the 18th iteration since its 2006 debut, the festival has tapped Alanis Morissette, Black Pumas and Jamie xx to lead a lineup of 42 total acts.

On Friday, July 19, rising psychedelic soul duo Black Pumas will open ring in the latest staging of this certified Chicago tradition, following performances from 13 acts including 100 Gecs, Jeff Rosenstock, Sudan Archives, Amen Dunes, Billy Woods & Kenny Segal and the innovative and enigmatic Jai Paul, who gave his first live performance at Coachella last year following nearly two decades of recording.

Jamie xx–the English producer, DJ, and frontman of indie pop outfit the xx–will headline on Saturday, topping off another impressive bill highlighted by performances from Carly Rae Jepson, Jessie Ware, Unwound, Bratmobile, Water From Your Eyes, Feeble Little Horse, L’Rain and more. Legendary New York hip-hop group De La Soul will also take the stage, returning to the festival after performing at its second staging in 2007 to celebrate the 35th anniversary of 3 Feet High and Rising, the group’s pathbreaking 1989 debut.

Finally, the inimitable singer-songwriter Alanis Morissette will lead the final day of the festival, marking the culmination of sets from MUNA, Grandmaster Flash, Les Savy Flav, Jessica Pratt, Hailu Mergia, Model/Actriz and Nala Sinephro and Brittany Howard, the Grammy-winning Alabama Shakes vocalist whose performance will fall within a stacked world tour and festival circuit supporting the release of What Now, her critically acclaimed sophomore solo album.
