Oceans Calling Festival has announced the full artist lineup for its 2024 event, returning to Ocean City, Md. this year for its second annual presentation. From Sept. 27-29, the scenic summer send-off will call an eclectic mix of indie, reggae, rock, pop and more to convene on the Ocean City Boardwalk for a weekend rife with good music, gourmet food and aughts nostalgia. Brought to life by a partnership with Rockville, Md.’s own roots-rock innovators O.A.R., this year’s festival will feature 40 acts, led by headliners Blink-182, The Killers and Dave Matthews Band.
On Friday, Sept. 27, Blink-182 will deliver the festival to its first climax after sunny sets from icons like Cage The Elephant, 311, O.A.R and ska powerhouse Sublime, which was booked to perform at the festival’s ill-fated would-be debut in 2022 and has since re-launched with frontman Jakob Nowell, who fills the seat originally assumed by his father Bradley. The loaded lineup will also include performances by The Revivalists, The Darkness, Sugar Ray and Larkin Poe, as well as Tonic, Phillip Phillips, Winona Fighter and Vincent Lima.
The Killers are booked as Saturday’s headliner, set to lead the day 2 lineup with The Offspring, Rebelution, The Beach Boys and Young The Giant. Earlier appearances will be made by Grouplove, The Hives, Switchfoot and The All-American Rejects–memorable for the indelible ‘08 earworm “Gives You Hell”–who drive home the festival’s emphasis on amplifying nostalgia to fulfill pre-teen dreams. The Beaches, Tom Odell, Trevor Hall, The Samples and Katelyn Tarver will take the stage as opening acts, infusing this romp down memory lane with some new blood.
Come Sunday, Dave Matthews Band will close out the weekend following presentations from Mt. Joy, Counting Crows, Barenaked Ladies and legendary Philadelphia vocal group Boyz II Men. Maryland-based jam-funk outfit Pigeons Playing Ping Pong will also assume the spotlight on the final date, as will Blues Traveler, Guster, Big Head Todd and The Monsters, Lisa Loeb, Jade Bird and Stephen Kellogg.
Beyond the music, Oceans Calling will also feature guest appearances and cooking demonstrations by renowned chefs Robert Irvine, Amanda Freitag, Marc Murphy and host Jason Biggs. Between the stages, fans will be welcome to enjoy bites from local food vendors and Boardwalk businesses, as well as classic boardwalk rides and games.
