Smile High, also known as Ben “Smiley” Silverstein, has delivered the latest single from the highly anticipated LP, The Vibetape, due on Nov. 24. “All For You” features The Main Squeeze, Felly and Tia P, tapping into the collective spirit of the project, which brings together over a dozen vocalists who breathe an energetic amalgamation of R&B, funk, jazz, and hip hop.

The Vibetape is a combined effort between Smile High, who gained his moniker for his so-called “resting smile face,” and The Main Squeeze. The project draws upon the musicians’ shared experiences, performing together in the funk-leaning ensemble for over a decade–honing in on their shared artistry. 

The impending set was recorded at Smiley’s residence, also known as the Squeeze House. The material that makes up the session’s tracking list was birthed out of low-pressure jam sessions, a notable feature extended on the set. Moreover, the atmosphere of the recording space was explicitly curated to counter the so-called artificiality of Los Angeles’ music scene, rejecting phony illusions in favor of organic serenity. 

Today’s single release is the latest in a series of previews that have unfolded each Friday in the two months leading up to the project’s official drop. On social media, Smile High and The Main Squeeze introduced the project to their followers, revealing: “One of the greatest things about these years in LA has been the countless parties/jam sessions we’ve thrown at the Squeeze House, bringing musicians and artists of all creeds together under one roof to collaborate, improvise, and express themselves musically into the wee hours of the night. We’ve made a ton of new friends along the way.”

They continued: “So in the spirit of the Squeeze House jams, we decided to try something that was new and fresh for us with some of those same friends. We are proud to announce ‘The Vibetape:’ a full-length collaborative mixtape featuring fifteen amazing artists, exploring our take on R&B, Hip Hop, Neo Soul, and Beyond. Executive produced and spearheaded by our brother, the steward of the Squeeze House, Smiley.”
