On Oct. 1, The Bitter End will host Synths Will Find You, a live-electronica residency featuring Dngrhndz and the supergroup Droid. The event has been curated by Amir Ziv, drummer, composer and professor at the New School, to promote and present the live electronic scene in the Tri-State area.

The monthly residency will feature three sets, including a jam session at the end that is open to all musicians and students interested in playing electronic music. The first set will be a performance by Dngrhndz, a modular synth artist who has–throughout his career–played in different styles and approaches. The multi-instrumentalist now transmits his artistry through hip-hop beats with powerful melodies that result in mesmerizing soundscapes.

Following the aforementioned performance, there will be a show by Droid, a band that blossomed in the live Drum ‘n’ Bass scene during the ‘90s and early 2000s. The band comprised of Ziv, Jordan McLean on brass and electronic instruments and Adam Holzman on keys. They integrate dance, jazz and even classical music into their sound that shaped the electronic scene in New York for decades.

At the end of the night, students that are interested in playing in the electronic scene will be invited to come jam with Droid, offering a chance to perform with legends of the musical canon. Ziv and the rest of the band will be supporting students as they work through the live-electronic music, for which they are known for.
