Today, Dolly Parton has shared the latest preview of her impending album, Rockstar, due on Nov. 17 via Butterfly and Big Machine Records. The musician has delivered her take on The Beatles classic, “Let It Be,” featuring industry titans Paul McCartney (vocals/piano), Ringo Starr (drums), Peter Frampton (guitar) and Mick Fleetwood (additional percussion).
The cover ascends with McCartney’s recognizable piano work. It reaches further heights with the addition of Parton’s twangy vocals–which breathe new life into the saged lyrics–beautifully supported by McCartney, who croons the chorus. As the song builds, players Starr, Frampton and Fleetwood add to the instrumentals, generating a powerful assemblage of multifaceted talents.
“Well, does it get any better than singing ‘Let It Be’ with Paul McCartney, who wrote the song? Not only that, he played piano! Well, it did get even better when Ringo Starr joined in on drums, Peter Frampton on guitar and Mick Fleetwood playing percussion. I mean, seriously, how much better does it get? Thanks guys,” offered Parton via press release.
