Duane Betts made his Grand Ole Opry debut on Tuesday night. Along with members of the Opry house band, Betts and his group, Palmetto Motel, performed two songs from his upcoming LP, Wild & Precious Life: “Waiting on a Song” and “Circles in the Stars.” On the latter, Betts was joined by his current touring partner, Maggie Rose, who welcomed Betts to the hallowed Country music institution.
“To go up there and sing my songs, standing in that iconic circle, it all kind of hit that this was really happening. Then, I just took in the moment and let it all ride,” said Betts after his performance.
Betts and Rose continue their joint tour together until July 1. Then, Betts & Palmetto Motel launch their Wild & Precious Life On the Road tour with a July 2nd stop at The Peach Music Festival, and a July 14 album release kick-off in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. A 12-date run up the Eastern seaboard follows, with a Phish after-party in New York City on the 29th closing the July leg.
