Today, the all-star assembly of George Porter Jr., Eddie Roberts, Robert Walter and Nikki Glaspie have come together to share the latest and final preview of their impending album, Floki Sessions: Boots in Place, due on July 7 via Folki Studios. The group has shared a new single, “Fall Right In,” which features a guest appearance by indie-soul songwriter Son Little.

The impending full-length release was recorded at Floki Studios in the Fljót Valley on the Troll Peninsula in northern Iceland at Eleven Experience’s Deplar Farm during the winter of 2021. The single “Fall Right In” finds the ensemble merging their funky instrumental mastery with bluesy vocals evoked by Little. Lyrically, the song details the underbelly of New Orleans while pulling stylistic influence from the region. 

The collaboration came after Little played a headlining gig at Denver’s The Bluebird Theater in November 2022, where he connected with Roberts, who recruited the vocalist to add to the track, conceived at Color Red Studios, based in the Mile High City. Besides Little, the project also features guest appearances by Erica Falls, Lamar Williams. Jr., Tierinii Jackson, Eric “Benny” Bloom, and rising Chicago artist GreenTTea.
