Members of Cool Cool Cool, The Motet, Snarky Puppy and The Nth Power will come together to pay tribute to the music of Steely Dan during Jazz Fest. The late-night concert, which will technically start in the early morning hours of May 5, will occur at The Howlin’ Wolf venue in New Orleans.

The 12-piece band will be led by The Motet’s keyboardist, Joey Porter, and features all seven members of Cool Cool Cool: Craig Brodhead (guitar, keys), Michelangelo Carubba (drums), Shira Elias (vocals) and Sammi Garett (vocals) as well as trumpeter Chris Brouwers, saxophonists Josh Schwartz and Greg Sanderson, otherwise known as The Horn Section.

In addition to the members of Cool Cool Cool, the ensemble will also include The Nth Power’s Nick Cassarino (guitar, vocals) and Nate Edgar (bass), Snarky Puppy percussionist Nate Werth, as well as vocalist Lyle Divinsky.

The impending show, which takes inspiration from the Walter Becker and Donald Fagen-founded rock team’s original music, arrives after various iterations of this group of musicians performed previous tribute concerts during the 2018 Brooklyn Comes Alive event, 2019 and 2022 Jazz Fest blowouts.

Tickets for the upcoming Steely Dan tribute in The Big Easy are on sale now and can be purchased here.
