Genesis and Phil Collins have reportedly stuck a massive deal with Concord Music Group to sell their publishing and master recordings in a reported $300 million contract.

This afternoon, The Wall Street Journal broke the story when Concord President Bob Valentine divulged his plan to introduce the next generation to Collins and Genesis. Valentine offered: “In the world we live in today with Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, all these things that drive consumption of older music.” He continued, “There are definitely ways for us a record company to bring some of this music back to life.”

The mega-deal will reportedly include the sale of Collins’ repertoire of music, such as his most successful singles: “In the Air Tonight,” “Against All Odds (Take a Look at Me Now),” “One More Night” and “Another Day in Paradise.” Moreover, the deal will also secure Concord with the rights to Genesis’ collection, including hits like “Invisible Touch,” “I Can’t Dance,” “Land of Confusion,” “Follow You, Follow Me” and “That’s All.”

Genesis have not released an album with Collins since the early-90s when they collectively dropped their 14th studio album, We Can’t Dance. A few years later, the group’s singer and drummer departed the ensemble to pursue his solo project full-time.

Since then, Collins has struggled with severe health difficulties. He returned to the stage with his Genesis bandmates for a Turn It On Again Tour in 2007. And again in 2017 for various solo gigs that included support from his son, fellow drummer Nic Collins. Finally, the ensemble toured once more last year.
