Tipitina’s, the New Orleans live music venue, will present With You In Mind – A Tribute to The Songbook of Allen Toussaint on Nov. 23. The one-night event has received musical direction from The Meters’ George Porter Jr., and includes several celebrated artists taking the stage to honor the rhythm and blues legend.  

The upcoming event serves as the venue’s fourth installment of tributes to be produced by Sonny Schneidau and follows The Professor Longhair 100th Birthday Tribute, The Tribute to Dr. John and Covered in Earl: A Tribute to Earl King. 

The tribute will include performances by Irma Thomas, Ivan Neville, Deacon John, John Boutte, Jon Cleary, Walter “Wolfman” Washington, Kermit Ruffins, James Andrews, Stanton Moore, Anjelika “Jelly” Joesph, Theresa Andersson, Oscar Rossignoli and more. 

Moreover, for the Nov. 23 event in The Big Easy, Porter will be joined by Herlin Riley, David Trokanowsky, Kyle Roussel, Chris Adkins, Tony Dagradi, Brad Walker, Tracy Griffin, Jeff Albert, Phillip Manuel and Jolynda “Kiki” Chapman. 

A portion of the proceeds from the event will benefit New Orleans Musicians’ Clinics & Assistance Foundation, which Toussaint supported from its inception. The 501 (c)3 non-profit organization offers occupational and comprehensive health services for musicians, artists, cultural workers and more. Learn more here.
