On Friday, Trey Anastasio Band kicked off their fall tour at the KettleHouse Amphitheater in Bonner, Mont. The performance saw several acoustic stylings by the Phish guitarist and his ensemble of highly acclaimed musicians, along with the live debut of “6 1/2 Minutes,” a song off his acoustic LP Mercy.

Anastasio and his band – comprised of Jennifer Hartswick, Russ Lawton, Ray Paczkowski, Natalie Cressman, Cyro Baptista, James Casey, and Dezron Douglas – started the evening with “Set Your Soul Free.” Trey Anastasio Band continued with cuts from Anastasio’s solo work and the ever-growing Phish songbook, including “Love Is What We Are,” “Everything’s Right,” “Ghost,” “Pigtail,” Drifting,” and more. “Curlew’s Call” served as the opening sets penultimate track before they closed with “Gotta Jibboo.”

The gilded brass and melodic strings coupled with Anastasio’s virtuosic guitar work remained immaculate as they began the second set with “Alive Again,” which was followed by the Phish fan favorite “The Moma Dance.” Next, the ensemble started with a jam of “Alaska” into “Olivia” into “No Men In No Man’s Land.” They continued with “Cayman Review,” which was followed by the title track of Anastasio’s solo acoustic LP, and followed up with “Valentine.” They closed the second set with the ever infectious “Sand.”

After a beautiful and rounded performance, Anastasio and the ensemble returned to the stage with a very special surprise. With Hartswick and Cressman giving backing vocals, the frontman debuted “6 1/2 Minutes” in line with the studio recording of the song: acoustically. They continued with the opening format and moved into “Brief Time.” To close the night out, the rest of Trey Anastasio Band rejoined for a pairing of “A Life Beyond The Dream” with “Tuesday.”

It’s notable over the weekend, Trey Anastasio Band performed at Marymoor Park in Redmond, Wash., and the McMenamins Historic Edgefield Manor in Troutdale, Ore. tonight, they’ll perform at the revolution Concert House & Event Center in Carden City, Ind.
