Today, Pigeon Playing Ping Pong have announced their 15th-anniversary tour, the group shared that in addition to 15 existing tour dates, they have tacked on new four gigs, three of which include support from Dogs In A Pile.
The celebratory jaunt will commence on Sept. 15 with an outdoor gig at Ziggy’s in High Point, N.C., followed by a hometown sweep beginning on Sept. 29 in Baltimore. From there, the group will pop up at Terrapin Beer Co. in Athens, Ga., before a newly added stop on Oct. 7 in Chattanooga, Tenn.
The ensemble will continue through the Southern region of the United States throughout October, making stops in Louisiana and Florida before jumping up the coastline for a show at The Stone Pony in Asbury Park, N.J., on Oct. 27. From there, they’ll carry out shows till the end of the month, stopping in Stroudsburg, Pa., on Oct. 28 and New Haven, Conn., on Oct. 29.
Pigeons Playing Ping Pong will take the month of November off before reconvening for a two-night stand on Dec. 2 and 3 at Jefferson Theater in Charlottesville, Va. Then, more newly added dates will land on Dec. 8, when Pigeons Playing Ping Pong perform at Higher Ground in Burlington, Vt. The next night, they’ll pop down to Albany, N.Y., for a show at Empire Live, before their finally newly announced show on Dec. 10 at Westcott Theatre in Syracuse, N.Y.
To round out the year, Pigeons Playing Ping Pong will take the stage at the end of December for a two-night New Year’s Eve celebration at Pittsburgh’s Stage AE, where they’ll be joined by Magic Beans. Read more here.
In a press release shared by the band, the group’s singer and guitarist, Greg Ormont, shared: “I’ve told the band’s origin story so many times that it almost feels made up at this point.” He continued, “We started this project for fun back in college and we continue it today for the same reason, with fifteen years of epic jams, big smiles and unforgettable memories behind us, and a lifetime to go.”
