On July 29, as part of their tour with Train and Jewel, Blues Traveler performed at the FivePoint Amphitheatre in Irvine, Calif. Blues Traveler’s portion of the night was comprised of five tracks, each explosive and masterfully delivered.

Their opening song was no expectation as they launched with a bombastic cover of Spinal Tap’s “Big Bottom.” The song featured assistance from Jewel’s bassist Tim Marks and Train’s bassist Hector Maldanado, who both added extra low-end vibrations. Blues Traveler’s Tad Kinchla supplied lead vocals with the help of Adam Carolla.

The set was rounded out by their original track “Run-Around,” a cover of Son Seals’ “Funky Bitch,” before they danced towards the east with The Charlie Daniels Band’s “The Devil Went Down to Georgia.” Their performance was closed with “Hook.”
