My Morning Jacket took to Instagram to share that frontman Jim James has tested positive for COVID-19 and they’ve decided to cancel their hometown shows at the Iroquois Amphitheater and the Louisville Waterfront, in Louisville, Kenn. on Friday, June 24 and Saturday, June 25 respectively.

The show at the Iroquois Amphitheater set for tomorrow night was sold out and was going to feature support from Kiana & the Sun King, River City Drum Corps, the following evening was set to welcome Louisville Leopards Percussionists, Producing a Kind Generation to the Louisville Waterfront which can accommodate 20,000 guests.

“This is upsetting for everybody involved and we are deeply sorry to everyone who made plans to come to see us from near and afar,” the band shared in a statement. “We have been vigilant about staying safe and bubbled and have done everything we can to protect ourselves from infection during this time.” They went on to say they do plan to perform in Louisville at later dates though refunds for both shows are available through the point of purchase.

My Morning Jacket are scheduled to perform in Detroit following some downtime for James to heal.
