Over the weekend, moe. performed at Summer Camp Music Festival in Chillicothe, Ill. The ensemble delivered multiple sets of music to excited fans, including several fan favorites that kept the crowd grooving through the multi-day gathering. Friday night’s show marked the band’s first performance under their own name since billing themselves as Monkeys on Ecstacy at Empire Underground in Albany, N.Y., earlier this month.

While this weekend’s musical offers were sans Chuck Garvey, who is recovering from a stroke which happened last November, the band did welcome his stand-ins Nate Wilson and Suke Cerulo. moe.’s Friday afternoon single set performance got underway on the Moonshine Stage with “Not Coming Down” jammed into “Wormwood” and “Okayalright.” Next, the band delivered “Jazz Cigarette” ahead of a segued pairing of “Crushing” into “Timmy Tucker.” The latter half of moe.’s afternoon set featured “Mar-DeMa,” which preluded “Captain America,” which bled into set ender, “Recreational Chemistry.”

Later that night, on the Campfire Stage, members of moe. performed as Bluestar Radiation. Tim Palmeri sat out the event, as he was not feeling up to performing. Meanwhile, Rob Derhak, Al Schnier, Vinnie Amico, Jim Loughlin and Wilson proceeded with the show, where they welcomed Umphrey’s McGee guitarist Brendan Bayliss to sit in on a cover of Supertramp’s “Bloody Well Right,” Ghost of Jupiter’s “Yellow Tiger” and an upbeat take on Wang Chung’s “Dance Hall Days.”

Saturday’s performance kicked off with a segued pairing of “Happy Hour Hero” with “Seat Of My Pants.” Next up, moe. paid tribute to their hometown with “Skitchin’ Buffalo,” ahead of the Allman Brothers Band’s “In Memory Of Elizabeth Reed.” Then, they pulled out “Big World,” which bled into “Ricky Marten,” “Time Ed” and “George.”

The second set began with Derhak taking the lead on “Blue Jeans Pizza,” which turned into “ATL.” Next, moe. performed “Downward Facing Dog” before covering Led Zeppelin’s “Immigrant Song.” “Rebubula” jammed into “So Long,” “Buster,” and ultimately a return to “Rebubula” to finish off the set. For their encores, moe. delivered “Mob Rules” into a cover of Black Sabbath’s “Tailspin.”

The band took their final stand at Summer Camp Music Festival on Sunday. moe. delivered an epic set of music to end the unforgettable weekend in the Land of Lincoln. Next up, they’ll take some time off the road before popping up at Norfolk Harborfest in Norfolk, Va., on June 10.
