Pearl Jam have announced on social media that bassist Jeff Ament tested positive for COVID-19 this morning, and as a result, they’ve decided to cancel their shows scheduled for Sacramento, Calif. and Las Vegas. The shows were scheduled for tonight, May 18 and May 20 respectively.

Earlier this month Pearl Jam drummer Matt Cameron tested positive for COVID-19 and the band did their best to power through his absence with the help of Dave Krusen, Josh Klinghoffer, Richard Stuverud and special guests during their shows in California, however, now with this most recent turn, they’ve decided pausing performances is the safest and right plan of action.

“This is horrible for everybody involved and we are especially sorry to those out there who have made plans to attend these shows,” the band wrote in a statement. “Our attention to staying inside the bubble has been constant. We have truly done all that we could have to remain clear of infection.”

They went on to share that ticket refunds will be automatically processed to ticket holders at the point of purchase.
