Nick Cave’s son, Jethro Lazenby, has died at the age of 31.

Cave confirmed the death of his son in a statement. He wrote, “With much sadness, I can confirm that my son, Jethro, has passed away. We would be grateful for family privacy at this time.” Cave did not provide any cause of death.

Lazenby’s death comes just days after he was released on bail from a Melbourne jail after he admitted to attacking his mother Beau Lazenby. After his release according to United Kingdom’s Metro, Lazenby was ordered by a judge to undergo treatment for substance abuse and avoid contact with his mother for two years. At the time of his arrest in April, The Independent reported that a representative for Lazenby said he had been diagnosed with schizophrenia.

Lazenby was born in Melbourne, Australia, in 1991 and worked mostly as a model, though he took on a handful of acting roles under the name “Jethro Cave.” His death comes seven years after Cave’s son Arthur Cave, died at 15 after falling from a cliff in Brighton, England.
