Last night, Reba McEntire performed “Somehow I Do” from the film Four Good Days at the 94th annual Academy Awards. A star-studded lineup of musicians joined the country icon to deliver a message of hope to the people of Ukraine.

After a touching introduction by Mila Kunis, who starred in Four Good Days, McEntire took the stage backed by Robert Randolph, Travis Barker, Kevin Jonas, Adam Blackstone, Shelia E., Robert Glasper and more.

McEntire’s vocals were well greased and vivaciously connected with the purr of Randolph’s steel pedal guitar. All the while, Barker kept perfect rhythm, adding a rock edge with a deep emotional feel to the twangy original.

Following the performance, a message appeared on the screen behind the musicians, “We’d like to have a moment of silence to show our support for the people of Ukraine currently facing invasion, conflict and prejudice within their own borders.”

McEntire was nominated in the Best Original Song category for “Somehow I Do” but lost to Billie Eilish and Finneas, who took home the award for “No Time To Die” from the James Bond film of the same name.
