Bright Eyes partnered up with Phoebe Bridgers to deliver a cover of “St. Idles Heaven,” off the late singer/songwriter Elliott Smith’s groundbreaking self-titled 1995 album.

Bright Eyes lead vocalist and frontman Conor Oberst, and Bridgers–who worked together on 2019’s Better Oblivion Community Center–voices collide and unify on the track forming a contemporary take on the euphonious harmonies shared between Elliott and Rebecca Gates on the original recording.

The “St. Ides Heaven” cover will appear on Bright Eyes’ forthcoming Letting Off the Happiness: A Companion EP which will release on May 27.

Tonight, Bright Eyes will set off on their 2022 tour, which will see the band perform their extensive catalog of music, including their tenth studio album, Down in the Weeds, Where the World Once Was, which was released in August 2020.
