Animal Liberation Orchestra, also known as, ALO, have shared a new nine-minute song titled “The Legend of Renault.”

On the track, the California rock band tells a tale about the origins of their mascot Renault. The song sonically evolves from tropical retro 80s inclinations into slow-burning blissful 70s rock, all while telling a story about friendship and liberation.

Along with the release of the single, ALO have announced the theme for the hometown portion of their 15th annual Tour d’Amour at the Great American Music Hall in San Francisco.

“The hometown run kicks off tonight (Fri 2/25) with ‘The Quixotic Aquatic Soiree,’ followed by the ‘Great American Sparkle Ball’ tomorrow (Sat 2/26). Tour opener Anna Moss opens the show tonight and tomorrow will be an ‘Evening With,’ with some surprises on deck,” wrote the band in a press release.

Their tour will continue through next weekend where they’ll visit Astoria and Portland, Ore. and then Seattle to close out the run.

“It’s been an incredible tour so far – surreal, heartwarming, joyous. We can’t wait to see ya tonight and keep the good thing going on,” wrote the band in the release.
