Delvon Lamarr Organ Trio have returned just two weeks after sharing their third studio LP Cold As Weiss, with a new single titled “Fried Soul.” The barrelhouse-style single is streaming on digital platforms and sold in record stores.
The track features Jimmy James on guitar, Delvon Lamarr on organ and Dan Weiss on drums and continues to highlight the musicians’ aptitude for multiple genres from vintage-funk to R&B. Weiss is known for his work with The Sextones and their latest LP featuring his name marks the band’s first release with him in command of percussions.
“‘Fried Soul’ takes you back to a time of the juke joints, when those steamy grooves made you want to shake your shimmy,” Lamarr said in a release.
Delvon Lamarr Organ Trio will set off on a spring tour starting on March 10 at Proud Larry’s in Oxford, Miss. Find tickets to their upcoming tour here.
