Pink Talking Fish founder/bassist Eric Gould has announced that he has formed a new tribute fusion band called Prince/Bowie. The group has also shared a small set of Northeastern U.S. and Colorado tour dates.
The Prince/Bowie concept was tested at the Catskills Chill Festival, Wanee (Pink Talking Fu Kuaz), Adirondack Independence Music Festival, and the Phish After Party at Putnam Place, and proved ready for the road.
Prince/Bowie will feature a rotating cast of characters from various acts, including Snarky Puppy, Trey Anastasio Band, Turkuaz, Kung Fu, The Nth Power and more.
Every tour date will include Gould’s Pink Talking Fish bandmate, Cal Kehoe, and The Horn Section featuring Josh Schwartz, Greg Sanderson and Chris Broewers, formerly of Turkuaz.
The tour begins on March 13 in Denver, Colo. when Prince/Bowie will perform at So Many Roads Brewery and Museum, with all the members of Pink Talking Fish and Chuck Morris of Lotus.
On March 17, the ensemble will play at Putnam Place in Saratoga Springs, N.Y., with a lineup that includes members of Pink Talking Fish, drummer Adrian Tramontano of Kung Fu and more. See the Facebook post below for details.
The final two stops will be on April 29 at The Wall Street Theater in Norwalk, Conn., and The Cabot in Beverly, Mass. on April 30. Both shows will feature Gould and Kehoe from Pink Talking Fish, The Horn Section with Mickey Carubba, formerly of Turkuaz and AC Carter of TAUK.
