Umphrey’s McGee performed at Brooklyn Bowl Philadelphia on Feb. 9. The ensemble busted out a cover of Iron Maiden’s “The Trooper” during the one-night stand in the City of Brotherly Love.
The show opened with “There’s No Crying In Mexico” and segued into “Miss Tinkle’s Overture” and “Mulche’s Odyssey,” followed by “Nopener.”
For the latter half of the first set, Umphrey’s McGee performed an epic jam comprised of Hajimemashite,” “Tribute to the Spinal Shaft,” “Out Of Order,” “Water,” and “August.”
The second set picked up with “1348,” which segued into a cover of Wang Chung’s “Dance Hall Days.” Next, the ensemble broke into a selection of songs off the 2002 LP, Local Band Does O.K., including “Prowler,” “2nd Self,” and “Hurt Bird Bath.”
Then Umphrey’s McGee performed 2022’s “I Don’t Know What I Want” for only the third time live. The second set closed with “2×2.”
For their encore, Umphrey’s McGee busted out a covered Iron Maiden’s “The Trooper,” which was last played at The Orpheum Theatre in Madison, Wis. on Nov. 11, 2014. For the band’s final song, they returned to the second set opener, “1348.”
