The Who have announced a two-part 2022 North American tour beginning this spring. The upcoming dates will feature orchestral accompaniment on fan favorites and songs from the band’s most recent album, Who.
Part one of the tour begins April 22 at the Hard Rock Live in Hollywood, Fla., and stretches till May 28 when the band wraps the first leg at Bethel Woods Center of the Arts in Bethel, N.Y.
After a summer hiatus, the legendary rock troop will kick off part two on Oct. 2 at Scotiabank Arena in Toronto. The Who Hits Back tour will end with a two-night stand at the Dolby Live at Park MGM in Las Vegas, Nev.
On the road, Peter Townshend and Roger Daltrey will be joined by Simon Townshend (guitar/ backup vocals), Loren Gold (keyboard), Emily Marshall (keyboard), John Button (bass), Zak Starkey (drums), Billy Nicholls (backup vocals), Katie Jacoby (violin), Audrey Snyder (cello) along with orchestra conductor Keith Levenson.
Roger Daltrey commented on the forthcoming tour, “Pete and I said we’d be back, but we didn’t think we’d have to wait for two years for the privilege. This is making the chance to perform feel even more special this time around. So many livelihoods have been impacted due to Covid, so we are thrilled to get everyone back together – the band, the crew and the fans. We’re gearing up for a great show that hits back in the only way The Who know how. By giving it everything we got.”
