Brandi Carlile has been named the first performer to join the bill for the upcoming Elton John AIDS Foundation Oscars Pre-Party. This year’s event is set to take place on March 27 and will mark the event’s 30th year.

Carlile shared some of her sentiments about being selected in a statement: “Getting to perform for such a significant milestone of one of the most legendary Oscar Parties is an absolute honor. I’m looking forward to celebrating Hollywood’s big night with close friends and supporters of the Elton John AIDS Foundation and helping bring awareness to an incredibly important cause.”

In a return to form, the event will be held in person after last year’s concert was held virtually due to the COVID-19 pandemic. 2021’s event raised $3 million for the global effort to end AIDS and featured appearances by Olly Alexander, Nathaniel Curtis, Omari Douglas, Cynthia Erivo, Callum Scott Howells, Elizabeth Hurley, David Williams, Lydia West, Neil Patrick Harris and more.

Chairman of the Elton John AIDS Foundation, David Furnish, spoke to the ongoing importance of the organization’s mission. “We want to remind people that while the coronavirus has consumed headlines for the past two years, HIV/AIDS is still a global epidemic,” Furnish shared in a statement. “It remains paramount to continue raising funds and awareness toward issues affecting people living with and at risk of HIV, and there is no better platform than our annual Academy Awards Viewing Party to do just that.”

Sir John, who has frequently collaborated with Carlile, also voiced his excitement, “David and I are so grateful to celebrate 30 years of the Foundation and especially grateful to Brandi Carlile and the many fabulous guests supporting us for another magnificent night in West Hollywood Park. Our success reflects the passion, commitment, and generosity of our supporters. Together, we are making a difference and bringing light and hope to people living with HIV around the world.”

More guests for 2022’s Elton John AIDS Foundation’s Oscars pre-arty are set to be announced soon.
