Pigeons Playing Ping Pong wrapped their two-night stand at Brooklyn Bowl Philadelphia on Saturday night. The group welcomed Star Kitchen keyboardist and Philadelphia resident Rob Marscher to finish the first set.

The quintet kicked things off with “Fox And Toad” off the 2017 LP, Pizzazz, and followed up with an unfinished “Time To Ride,” which led into “Penguins.” The jam continued with “Funkijam,” which led into “Totally” off the band’s 2010’s Funk E P

The latter part of the first set featured “Move Like That” into “Weightless,” which segue into “Fun In Funk,” followed by a cover of Pink Floyd’s “Young Lust” and back into “Fun In Funk.” Pigeons Playing Ping Pong then welcomed Rob Marscher from the funk band Star Kitchen for set-closer “Snake Eyes.”

The second set picked up with “Skinner” and “Walk Outside” and continued with “My Own Way.” Pigeons Playing Ping Ping then performed an unfinished “Kiwi” off the 2016 LP Pleasure, followed by “Time To Ride.” The set continued with “Undivided” into “Schwanthem.” Finally, PPPP ended their Brooklyn Bowl Philly run with a “High As Five” encore off the band’s 2018 Pigeons Playing Ping Pong (Live Sessions, Los Angeles, CA, 2020).

Rob Marscher, who has played with Matisyahu and Addison Groove Project, will return to Brooklyn Bowl Philadelphia with Star Kitchen on Feb. 4. The concert will feature special guest James Casey. Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased here
