Robert Finley appeared as the musical guest on Tuesday’s The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, where The Black Keys’ Dan Auerbach joined him to perform “Make Me Feel Alright.” The duo recently collaborated on Finley’s third studio album, Sharecropper’s Son.

Finley and Auerbach’s Louisiana blues washed over the audience during their “Make Me Feel Alright” performance. The steady instrumental loop mixed with ambient background vocals created the perfect backdrop for Finley’s expressive voice. From his soothing low register to his buttery falsetto, the musician shared a tale of loneliness that would make anyone cry.

Later this month, the soul singer will set out on tour, performing at the Grog Shop with Low Cut Connie in Cleveland, Ohio, on Jan. 19, followed by a small run of tour dates across the northeast.
