Indie pop band Lucius have announced a forthcoming album, titled Second Nature due out on April 8 via Mom + Pop Music. Today, they have shared the first single “Next to Normal,” along with the adjoining music video and revealed plans for a North American spring tour.

The LP was produced by Dave Cobb and Brandi Carlile and features ten tracks by singer songwriters Holly Laessig and Jess Wolfe who use the LP to reflect on motherhood, divorce and unplanned career pauses.

Laessig and Wolfe are joined by longtime band members Peter Lalish, Dan Molad, and Solomon Dorsey with additional contributions from Drew Erickson, Rob Moose, Gabriel Cabezas, and backing vocals by Brandi Carlile and Sheryl Crow.

In celebration of the forthcoming LP, the band will embark on a North American headline tour this spring, followed by a European fall run slated to begin in September. Additionally, Lucius will join Brandi Carlile for several summer concerts, including stops at L.A.’s The Greek Theatre, Colorado’s Red Rock Amphitheatre and Washington’s George Amphitheater.

Spring North American tour presale begins Wed., Jan. 12, general admission begins Fri., Jan. 14. Go to Lucius’ website for more information.
