My Morning Jacket are the latest act to cancel their New Year’s Eve plans due to COVID. The group was slated to perform at Denver’s Mission Ballroom.

A note from the group reads, “Due to the rapid rise of the Omicron variant across the country, we’ve made the deeply painful decision to cancel our New Year’s shows in Denver December 29-31. Our most important responsibility is to focus on the health of our community – our fans, our crew and our families. We know so many of you planned to travel in for a special run of shows, and we’re very sorry for any inconvenience this causes. Refunds will be automatically generated at point of purchase from our direct ticketing affiliates. You will be receiving an email shortly about your refund. Thanks to you all for making 2021 so great, and we’ll see you in 2022.”

MMJ’s next slated show is the Innings Festival in Tempe, AZ on February 27.
