Joe Russo’s Almost Dead performed their final show of 2021 at the 1STBANK Center in Broomfield, Colo., on Friday night. The Grateful Dead tribute band debuted covers of The Beatles’ “I’ve Got A Feeling” and Medeski Martin & Wood’s “Where’s Sly?”

The evening kicked off with the Grateful Dead favorite “I Need a Miracle” and rolled into “Estimated Prophet” before pulling out a fiery “Rubin and Cherise” off of Jerry Garcia Band’s iconic 1978 LP Cats Under the Stars.

The first set closed out with the traditional tune, “I Know You Rider,” followed by “St. Stephen.” The music picked back up during the second set with a debut of Medeski Martin & Wood’s “Where’s Sly?” followed by a classic pairing of “Lady With a Fan” into “Terrapin Station.”

The party continued with a rare cover of the Grateful Dead’s “At a Siding,” last played by Joe Russo’s Almost Dead on Sept 19, 2014, in Chicago, Ill. Next, the quintet slowed things down with a powerful rendition of “Stella Blue” before rocking the house with fan favorites “Truckin’” followed by “The Other One.” Finally, the band returned to the stage for an encore debut of The Beatles’ “I’ve Got A Feeling.”
