The multi-platinum Scottish rock outfit Travis have shared their own euphonious cover of Queen’s 1974 hit “Killer Queen.” The track features a brazen preamble before they break into what can only be called a crisp and very true-to-form cover. The track will be featured on the band’s upcoming deluxe reissue of their album The Invisible Band, which is set to release on Dec. 3.

Lead guitarist Andy Dunlop shared in a press release, “Killer Queen was fun; it was like when you’re young, and you take something apart just to see how it ticks. We literally tried to make it as close to the Queen version as possible – take every part and go ‘I want to recreate that.’ It was great because it’s such a brilliant song and such a good recording.”

The deluxe reissue of The Invisible Band is comprised of the original album remastered engineer Emily Lazar, all the original B-sides and a selection of entirely unheard demos, unreleased live sessions, and alternate takes.

Travis are also scheduled to tour across North America and the United Kingdom with The Invisible Band in Concert in April 2022, along with a show in Paris at Le Trianon on May 8, 2022.

The band will also be performing at the Shaky Knees Festival on April 29, 2022. Tickets for the festival are available here.
