Margo Price paid tribute to her fellow Farm Aid board member Neil Young on Sept. 25 at Farm Aid in Hartford, Conn. The country singer performed alongside her band at the Xfinity Theatre and was joined by Lukas and Micah Nelson towards the end of the set to cover Neil Young’s “Homegrown.”

Neil Young canceled his appearance at the 2021 Farm Aid Festival due to the surge in COVID-19 cases. The one-day event featured performances by Willie Nelson, Dave Matthews and Tim Reynolds, John Mellencamp, Tyler Childers, among others. In Young’s absence, the tribute fittingly featured Price thanking American farmworkers for “Doin’ what you do.”

Lukas Nelson played his own set alongside The Promise of the Real, the band Young notably toured with and who assisted him in recording Earth back in 2016. “Homegrown” was written and recorded between June 1974 and January 1975 and was released in 2020 on Young’s 40th studio album Homegrown.
