DelFest organizers have announced that after having to postpone DelFest twice this year, and despite their best efforts through working with state and local government, they’ve decided to postpone Delfest again–this time until Memorial Day weekend of 2022.
The festival was set to take place at the Allegany County Fairgrounds on Sept. 23 through 26, however, a surge in Delta variant-driven COVID-19 cases left the festival’s services company short-handed. They also lost the essential services of the local shuttle company and vendors.
The festival which is put on by the McCoury family was slated to headline The Travelin’ McCourys, Béla Fleck’s My Bluegrass Heart, St. Paul & The Broken Bones, Railroad Earth, Old Crow Medicine Show, Sam Bush, and Leftover Salmon. DelFest will be offering refunds, all non-refunded tickets will be honored at the 2022 festival.

September 11, 2021 at 10:53 pmRob and ronnie sound like 2 little spoiled punks… They literally made the festival vaccine only, and still complaining about the non vaccinated… If everyone is vaccinated, wtf is the problem??? Sounds like people have no faith in this vaccine… My head hurts reading this letter…I have seen many festivals, shows cancelled.. and never have I ever seen the band blame it on the town or people who have helped them over the past 15 years.. This is sad…

September 13, 2021 at 10:28 amHardly sounds like they’re blaming the unvaxxed it sounds like they’re blaming the lack of available staff on shortages caused by COVID. If they can’t staff the festival it’s kind of hard to put one on successfully. Would be nice if everyone got vaxxed, or were at least willing to wear a mask if they aren’t it’s really not a big ask to think beyond oneself so that life doesn’t keep getting postponed.

September 13, 2021 at 12:04 pmThey can’t get staff to work the fest and even non vaccinated shuttle drivers refuse to wear masks.
So yeah it is kind of the fault of ignorant, selfish, needlessly fearful people who won’t get vaccinated and also refuse to wear masks.
Get vaccinated people, it’s selfish and stupid not to!
