Tedeschi Trucks Band reunited at LOCKN’ Farm this past weekend, offering up their first full-band shows since March 2020.

The weekend may have been plagued by weather – in fact, TTB’s Aug. 28 set was slightly abridged due to lightning in the area – but the Aug. 27-29 outing proved a great opportunity for the band as well as other acts (Marcus King Band, Neal Francis, The Murder Hornets, Gabe Dixon Band and Jon Batiste) to celebrate the power of live music.

“Welcome back to LOCKN'” festival co-owner Peter Shapiro said ahead of TTB’s Aug. 28 show. “When we put this together there was one band at the top of the list that we said after these tough couple years we had to have this band back here. This is our eighth summer here and this band, this is their seventh appearance here on the farm… Every time we’ve had magic with this band.”

Tedeschi Trucks Band opened the show with their powerful “Don’t Know What It Means,” and even nodded to their last LOCKN’ appearance by later playing “Bell Bottom Blues” and “Why Does Love Got To Be So Sad” from Layla and Other Assorted Love Songs.

The following evening, TTB kept the weather at bay with an opening “High & Mighty” as well as a nice mid-set string of “I Walk on Guilded Splinters,” “Shame,” “Midnight In Harlem” and “Bound for Glory.”

The group really took off on their set-ending one-two punch of “I Want More”> “Soul Sacrifice” and ended their weekend with the encore of “I’ve Been Abused” and “Space Captain.”

“It’s all smiles on LOCKN’ Farm with @derekandsusan,” the festival wrote via Instagram. “So great to have our family back together.”
