Dead & Company continued their summer tour at Pennsylvania’s Hersheypark Stadium on Saturday night, offering fans plenty of sweet tunes.
The opening “The Music Never Stopped”> “Easy Answers”> “The Music Never Stopped” reprise certainly got people moving, and by the time “Touch of Grey” came around the outdoor venue had filled in completely with eager Deadheads.
Set two – however – saw the band dig even deeper with a noteworthy “Estimated Prophet”> “Eyes of the World”> “Althea”> “Drums”> “Space”> “Milestones” segment (the “Milestones” jam was likely a truly improvised nod to Miles Davis, as it did not appear in the band’s original setlist). D&C first debuted “Milestones” on June 13, 2017 at Lakewood Amphitheatre in Atlanta.
D&C continued the weekend show with :Going Down the Road Feelin’ Bad”> “Death Don’t Have No Mercy” and, of course, “One More Saturday Night.”
“Quinn the Eskimo (The Mighty Quinn)” acted as the encore, despite the band not officially leaving the stage.
“Hershey! Thank you for a spectacular night! We’re going to take a few days off, then see you for a double header at Great Woods Thurs. & Fri. nights,” the band wrote afterwards.

September 3, 2021 at 6:02 pmThis band does belong to Mayer and Chimenti now. The other members roll with them. Given their age it makes perfect sense. Not having Phil there is also a huge miss.

September 3, 2021 at 1:36 pmDead and co are absolutely nothing like the Grateful Dead… Tons of better cover bands out there with spirit. This is a money grab pure and simple.

September 3, 2021 at 1:06 pmIt’s not that psychedelic band that was part of your parents and grandparents life anymore. The tribalism is gone replaced as a piano band now. After all they are now grandparents themselves. Everything changes and nothing lasts. Enjoy it for what it is.

September 1, 2021 at 3:01 pmUnless there is someone else called Marquino. I did not post this, I was not there and I did not fall asleep. That was a name my South American soccer teammates gave me when I played with them in NYC 1994-97. I doubt if that’s the case for anyone else.
