Silk Sonic – the ’70s-inspired side project by Anderson .Paak and Bruno Mars – will wait until 2022 to release their highly-anticipated debut, An Evening with Silk Sonic.

In a new chat with Rolling Stone, Mars said “We’re really in touch-up mode now. We’ve got the bones of most of the album, so it’s really about touching up parts that need a little more… Grease.”

And while the band initially eyed a 2021 release, now it’s looking like the full-length LP will drop in January 2022.

The band’s lead single “Leave The Door Open” quickly became a chart-topping hit, with tons of radio play, and the duo recently followed that up with “Skate.”

An Evening with Silk Sonic is also set to include “special guest host” Bootsy Collins.
