Preservation Hall has announced a benefit gala concert in celebration of its 60th anniversary at New Orleans’ historic Orpheum Theater, on Oct. 8.

Preservation Hall was established in 1961 by Allen and Sandra Jaffe who sought to give a home to traditional New Orleans music at a time when it was surviving primarily on neighborhood streets. The Preservation Hall Jazz Band and The Preservation Hall Legacy Band are slated to honor the success of their mission.

The concert will feature three generations of New Orleans’ finest Musicians, surprise special guests and speakers. Preservation Hall has previously hosted Robert Plant, Elvis Costello, Alabama Shakes, Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats, Irma Thomas, Jimmy Buffett, The Head and The Heart, Del McCoury, Tom Waits, Dave Grohl, Jon Batiste, My Morning Jacket, PJ Morton and more.

Though special guests are unannounced before they hit the stage, the caliber of the artists associated with Preservation Hall can only leave one guessing what’s to come.

All proceeds from the concert will go to The Preservation Hall Foundation.

Tickets go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. CT. Get tickets here.
