Charleston S.C. band Doom Flamingo has released a new EP today, Wednesday, June 30, 2021. Led by frontwoman and lead singer Kanika Moore, the band is known for its complex synth waves, steady percussion, inventive guitar riffs, and deeply soulful and powerful vocal runs.

In 2020, the band released a 5-track dark-synth-wave EP titled Doom that served as a perfect vehicle to put their array of skills on display. Doom Flamingo retains those sonic characteristics in Flamingo but puts them out in a very different fashion. While Doom asked listeners to dance under a night sky Flamingo, inspires them to dance under a summer sun.

A bottomless familiarity of music, combined with musical talent and a deep desire to make listeners relax their minds and dance, is what allows Doom Flamingo to reverberate echoes of the 80s while still creating a contemporary feel. As innovative and funky combinations of beats, synths, and guitar mix and morph together, evoking visions of Daft Punk, as soon as the recognition becomes clear, Moore’s vocals grasp the listener and bring them to a new place entirely.

Flamingo is a strong display of this band’s versatility and establishes a more profound sense of identity – and has landed with perfect timing for the summer.
