On Aug. 27, Big Red Machine will drop their sophomore album How Long Do You Think It’s Gonna Last?.

As some music fans may recall, the experimental side project/supergroup boasts Bon Iver’s Justin Vernon and The National’s Aaron Dessner.

Their self-titled debut was released in August 2018 – following the formation of their PEOPLE collective – and ahead of the new LP, they’ve shared lead single “Latter Days” featuring Anaïs Mitchell.

“It was clear to Anaïs that the early sketch Justin and I made of ‘Latter Days’ was about childhood, or loss of innocence and nostalgia for a time before you’ve grown into adulthood—before you’ve hurt people or lost people and made mistakes,” Dessner said via press release. “She defined the whole record when she sang that, as these same themes kept appearing again and again.”

Guests on How Long Do You Think It’s Gonna Last? will include Taylor Swift, Robin Pecknold (Fleet Foxes) and Sharon Van Etten.
