Phish will put their Dinner and a Movie series “in the freezer” after a final 35th installment this Tuesday, June 29. The archival concert streams have been highlights of the past 15 months.
The final Dinner and a Movie installment will revisit Phish’s July 20, 1991 concert at Parksville, NY’s Arrowhead Ranch. Fellow Wetlands bands Spin Doctors and The Authority opened up and the Giant Country Horns joined Phish during their show. The once-popular jamband venue plans to start hosting music again this summer. Sue Zemanick, the owner and James Beard Award-winning chef at New Orleans’ Zasu, will provide this week’s recipe pairing.
A note from Phish’s team reads:
With real live tour dates on the horizon, it’s time to put our Dinner And A Movie series in the freezer. Thanks to everyone who tuned in, donated and ate dinner with us! We’ve got one more for you — join us this Tuesday night at 8:30 ET featuring Phish’s concert with the Giant Country Horns from July 20, 1991 at New York’s Arrowhead Ranch.
Sue Zemanick is the owner and James Beard Award-winning chef at Zasu, located in New Orleans’ Mid-City neighborhood. The name Zasu is derived from Zasa, which means “once again” in Slovak, inspired by Sue’s Slovak heritage and childhood memories of family bonding in the kitchen. Sue brings us a three course dinner of Coconut Curry Corn Soup, Spicy Tofu Larb Lettuce Wraps, and a Blueberry Creme Fraiche Pound Cake. Recipes can be found at https://phish.com/news/daam35/

Striving to make a more welcoming space for people of all races and ethnicities, bearing in mind the many ways in which race/ethnicity intersects with gender, gender identity/expression, sexual orientation, disability, and other identities. PHRE’s aim is to facilitate education and thoughtful engagement, first and foremost within the Phish community, about race and its intersection with other issues; give people tools to build a more welcoming environment; and activate our community to positively impact racial equity in the U.S. more broadly. June 27, 2021 at 10:41 am@ME I cannot think of a more inclusive scene than a phish show! Looking for problems where there are none is how this can be summarized. There was no statement I made about not agreeing with the entire message copied above, rather I don’t understand why it is pushed so hard forcibly into daily discourse and into broad realms where it doesn’t even make sense.

June 29, 2021 at 1:54 pm@Lame… fair enough, my apologies for jumping down your throat but I still think it’s a reasonable cause. You are correct, for the most part, the Phish scene is kind but I believe it’s time to make an effort anywhere possible… this race (and similar) issue is out of hand. Everyone should make an effort to eliminate judgement outside of good/bad. Idealistic maybe but worth every effort. I respect your opinion, though I may disagree.

June 27, 2021 at 1:26 amThis org is less than 6 months old give me a break. This coupled with Treys transitioning and soulful acoustic shows does not look good for the future of Phish.

June 27, 2021 at 12:54 pmI love the fresh stuff from Trey. Although he’s done acoustic solo sets before, this is different. Adding different instruments & musicians. As much as I love Phish, come dude it’s been 30 years. Plus there’s still gonna be Phish tour! But it’s ok, you can go listen to some spice Girls maybe

June 27, 2021 at 9:34 amHey Lame fool… trying to make people feel included and comfortable is not about politics… unless of course, you are one of the deplorables who suffers from Trumptardism and find the concept beyond your ability to comprehend

June 26, 2021 at 10:20 pmThe Horns tour was so good. This is a perfect show to wrap the “Dinner & a Movie” series with. Has it really been 30 years? Damn. Thanks again Phish!
