Grammy-winning singer-songwriter Jim Lauderdale has shared “Memory,” the second single from his upcoming 34th album Hope.
“Memory” – which Lauderdale shared on what would have been Grateful Dead lyricist Robert Hunter’s 80th birthday – was one of the final tunes he penned alongside Hunter; the two had been working on songs together for decades.
“Losing Robert just before the pandemic was so hard,” said Lauderdale in a press release. “But he left the perfect lyric, to sum up my feelings about him and to honor all the people we’ve lost since.”
Hope releases everywhere on July 30th via Yep Roc Records.
After nearly 15 months off the road, Lauderdale has also announced an eight-date tour in support of the new album. The run will include a July 30 album release show at 3rd & Lindsley in Nashville.
Tickets and additional information can be found here.
