Twiddle made their four-night run at Apple Valley Park in LaFayette, NY extra special this weekend with sit-ins by members of Dopapod and Aqueous.

Dopapod opened the first two shows (May 27 and 28), whereas Aqueous offered support for the final two (May 29 and 30). Naturally, Twiddle was ready to jam-out on this run, choosing to stretch out single performances as opposed to a two-set format.

Highlights included a May 27, show-ending version of “Syncopated Healing” featuring Dopapod’s Rob Compa on guitar and Eli Winderman on keys. Members of Dopapod also returned to jam with Twiddle on May 28, with a take on Twiddle’s “Latin Tang.”

On May 29, Twiddle leaned even harder into the jams, with a dance-ready “Enter”> “Orlando’s”> “Apples”> “Funkytown”> “Apples” segment to open the show.

Later, Aqueous guitarist Mike Gantzer joined the festivities and sat-in with the Vermont quartet on a two-part encore of “Slippin in the Kitchen” and “All Along the Watchtower.”

Speaking of Vermont quartets, Twiddle was sure to nod to their jam forefathers Phish on the following night, adding elements of “Harry Hood” to their own “Gatsby the Great.”

For their finale, Twiddle first collaborated with Gantzer on a set-ending “Milk,” but the real treat was the final tune of the run: a rowdy “Shakedown Street” featuring Compa and Gantzer as well as the latter’s Aqueous bandmates Rob Houk and Dave Loss.
