On May 1, Umphrey’s McGee completed their two-night run at the Atlanta Motor Speedway. The shows were part of the band’s Plan Bee socially distanced spring tour.

The band performed a seamless first set, with essentially zero full stops. They opened with a short “You Got the Wrong Guy” before diving into an extended “Plunger.” After “Example 1,” Umphrey’s then kicked off an extended “1348” sequence. The first segued from the song into “Maybe Someday” followed by “Night Nurse.” Fan-favorite “Higgins” emerged next, before UM effortlessly returned to “1348” to close the frame.

After a brief, pre-recorded intro, the band kicked off the second set by finishing the “Bridgeless” from the Apr. 30 show at the same venue. Next came a stand-alone “Puppet String,” followed by a pairing of “Wappy Sprayberry” and “The Floor.” After “Syncopated Strangers” (which included a tease of George Benson’s “Breezin'”), UM closed the set with “Driven to Tears.” They opted for “Slacker” as the encore.

Umphrey’s returns to the stage for the their next Plan Bee tour stop on May 14 at SeatGeek Stadium in Bridgeview, Ill. For more information on upcoming shows, click here.
