Following the May 7 release of a new double-album titled Latest Record Project: Volume 1,the legendary Irish singer-songwriter Van Morrison will perform his very first virtual concert. The first pay-per-view show is scheduled for May 8 at 3 p.m. ET via nugs.net.
The concert is set to take place at the famed Real World Studios in the village of Box, Wiltshire, England. Morrison plans to debut new songs and perform his biggest hits as well. Fans can find ticketing information on Van Morrison’s website.
The news of this special first-time livestream concert comes months after Van Morrison shared his anti-lockdown opinions and displeasure with the UK government’s handling of the COVID-19 pandemic. He wrote multiple tracks opposing the restrictions put in place to keep the public safe from coronavirus, including “No More Lockdown,” “Born To Be Free” and “As I Walked Out.”
Morrison previously shared a lyric video for the title track of Latest Record Project. Check it out below.

April 18, 2021 at 12:23 pmIf you didn’t enjoy a Van Morrison gig, it probably went over your head. And Van may not of been your cup of tea, but don’t try and tell me he didn’t have a kick ass band behind him. He wasn’t cut out for MTV. Like Dylan he can get grumpy, but try to appreciate seeing the Duke Ellington of Rock and Roll. There’s a reason he’s the guy who stole the Last Waltz with one song.

April 17, 2021 at 2:08 pmI remember being so excited to go see him perform at the Theater In Madison Square Garden in 2003 or 2004 and it was one of the worst concerts I’ve ever been to.

April 17, 2021 at 3:49 pmThat’s funny Glenn,
I went to the Dylan / Van shows @ the theatre @ MSG, (1995-ish) and it was wonderful. One of the best ever concert weekends I ever had, my co-fave Band Rolling Stones on the Saturday night @ MSG proper, and Dylan and Van together (my two fave individuals) the night prior on the Friday. All three shows were wonderful. I do hear ya though possibly, in that Van can be hit-or-miss at times.

April 23, 2021 at 3:33 pmI was at one of those shows, took my 10 year old daughter to her first night show. Dylan was as usual and Van was spectacular- the best he can be. After the show I asked my daughter what she thought of it. She said “Bob Dylan’s an old fogie but Van The Man was cool.”

April 23, 2021 at 3:44 pmNice! And now that your daughter is 36, it’s amazing how lucky she is (how lucky we all are) that pandemic aside, we’ll still be able to see them LIVE again, now 26 years later.
