Last fall, Spotify announced its virtual events listing page, featuring partnerships with Songkick and Ticketmaster. This week, Spotify revealed four new virtual event partnerships with StageIt, Mandolin, NoCap and nugs.net, all of which have been hosting numerous livestream concerts since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic last spring.

According to a blog post on the official Spotify For Artists page, the new partnerships allow fans to go straight from the Spotify app to the listed virtual show.

“We’ve streamlined the experience with our new partners so that listeners can go directly from Spotify on iOS, Android, or desktop to your event,” read the post. “And though Spotify doesn’t sell concert tickets, we do recommend events to listeners based on their location, the music they like, and the artists they follow.”

Fans will also receive push notifications 24-48 hours ahead of events alerting them of upcoming livestream concerts from artists they follow.

Spotify’s initial mission when establishing the virtual event listings was to “help fans to find out about virtual performances by artists they already love (and those they may have just discovered).”

Artists can also find pointers on hosting their own livestream shows on the Spotify For Artists blog as well as the Spotify Co.Lab podcast.
