Tedeschi Trucks Band have announced that their Wheels of Soul tour will be postponed to 2022. In addition, Los Lobos will replace St. Paul and the Broken Bones on the bill for next year’s tour. TTB keyboardist Gabe Dixon and his trio will stay on the lineup as the third act.
“Due to the ongoing uncertainty surrounding safe venue capacities and local regulations for the coming months, Tedeschi Trucks Band’s 2021 Wheels of Soul is being postponed until the summer of 2022,” wrote the band.
“We are extremely disappointed at having to postpone Wheels of Soul again,” said Derek Trucks in a statement. “We’re all missing the energy of live music – and there’s nothing like playing these large, outdoor shows alongside bands we admire. We were really hoping to get back on stage and dive into some fun big band collaborations with St. Paul, but unfortunately, with all the uncertainty, it just couldn’t work this year.”
The tour with St. Paul and the Broken Bones and Gabe Dixon was originally scheduled for the summer of 2020. However, last May, as the pandemic forced mass cancelations and postponements, the band pushed the tour to 2021.
In a statement, Tedeschi Trucks Band noted that “current Wheels of Soul tickets will be honored for rescheduled 2022 shows,” and those who cannot attend the new dates can contact their point of purchase for refunds. However, there are a few shows set for 2021 that were either canceled outright or are still in limbo.
The band’s two-night stand in Vienna, Va. is canceled, but the band will head there for a single show on July 19, 2022. Ticket holders will be “refunded and receive priority access to upcoming pre-sale for the new date.” In addition, the band’s show at the Delaware State Fair on July 27 has been canceled; all those with tickets will be automatically refunded after Apr. 15 of this year.
The rescheduled versions of Tedeschi Trucks Band’s 2021 gigs in Cincinnati, Ohio on July 11 and at Red Rocks on July 30 and 31 are currently “To Be Announced;” the band is urging fans to “hold tickets and stand by for additional information.
In the meantime, until venues open fully and with consideration for the safety of their fans and crew, the group is organizing some socially-distanced, limited capacity shows for this summer. The band plans to make an announcement about these special performances in the coming weeks.

April 7, 2021 at 12:28 pmThey canceled in no small part because they can’t trust everyone to wear masks and follow health guidelines during a pandemic for some dumb reason.
For all you anti-mask freedom fighters: why don’t you go eat at restaurants that don’t meet government health codes including places where chefs don’t wash their hands after going to the bathroom because they don’t want the government telling them what to do. Live your own health code amiright?
You want to see live music again? Wear a mask.
Nope
April 5, 2021 at 9:16 pmHow is June, yet?, vaccinated. You may not be “ready”, because of whatever personal reasons YOU have. They deserve much respect, but get over yourself, vaccinated. They ARE ready and so am I.

April 6, 2021 at 9:54 amIf they’re so ready then wouldn’t have have gone forward with the tour? The fact that TTB canceled implies that they are, in fact, not ready.
Vaccinated
April 5, 2021 at 8:49 pmSucks but what can you do? We’re not ready for big gatherings yet…looking forward to the return of the wheels of soul tour…thanks ttb

April 5, 2021 at 7:32 pmI respect TTB’s decision. They are doing it for us, not them. Another example of what most excellent people they are. Who else has done for their people what Susan and Derek have? The love, respect, and generosity they have is what sustains the faith I have that we the people will work together to make the world a better place. MUCH LUVZ TTB!!!
Nope
