Greensky Bluegrass mandolinist Paul Hoffman appeared as the latest guest on ‘Let’s Hear It!,’ a webseries hosted by Gary Waldman in which musicians, instrument builders, music store owners, songwriters and more discuss and play instruments that they love.

Despite being best known for his virtuosic mandolin playing, Hoffman opted to showcase a different instrument. During the episode, he discussed and demonstrated his antique 1890s Washburn New Model Parlor guitar. In addition to the conversation, Hoffman also performed a never-before-heard Greensky song titled “Until I Sing,” which will appear on the band’s upcoming album.

The new show kicked off over the summer, on Aug. 3. In addition to Blakesberg, past guests have included Eric Krasno, Joe Russo’s Almost Dead’s Scott Metzger, Scott Law, Leslie Mendelson, The Who touring violinist Katie Jacoby, Circles Around the Sun’s Mark Levy, CATS’ Dan Horne, Jeff Hill, Jon Graboff and more. Each episode sees guests tell stories about their instrument of choice before playing it live on the show.
